United Pentecostal Program will host a cookout this Saturday, August 2nd at the Wyanet Locker from 10:30 am until 1 pm.

Illinois Valley Community College’s admissions office will host “Experience IVCC” from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6. In conjunction with IVCC’s 90th birthday, the first 90 people to attend will receive a free 4GB flash drive.
Interim Associate Vice President for Student Services Mark Grzybowski said the event is for individuals interested in taking the first steps toward enrollment or those simply wanting to ease any nerves or anxiety about starting college.
Representatives from admissions and records, financial aid, counseling, and the assessment center will discuss important steps to take for successful last-minute enrollment.
Campus tours and refreshments will be available.
The Spring Valley Walleye Club holds its 18th annual golf outing at Spring Creek Golf Course. Featuring a 4 man best ball scramble. Tee-off is at 7:30 am. Cost is $75 per golfer (price includes golf, cart, drinks and walleye lunch). Entry forms are available on the SV Walleye Club website or at Spring Creek. Time: Registration 9:00 am to 10:15 am First bike out at 10:30 for an approx 80 mile ride
Cost: $15.00 for rider/passenger - free lunch afterwards…Burgers, hotdogs, chips, soda and water!!!
There will also be a 50/50 drawing, prizes for the farthest traveled and most money collected.
An “Ice Cream Social” to benefit the Bureau County Health and Wellness Clinic will be held Saturday, August 16th from 5 – 8 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 320 Park Ave. East in Princeton IL.
All are invited to enjoy an evening of ice cream, good food, fellowship, local entertainment and kid’s activities.
Princeton Buddy Bags is holding a back to school drawdown on Saturday, August 16 at the Princeton Elks Lodge (1105 E Peru St Princeton, IL). Tickets are $40.00 per couple , doors open at 5:00 p.m, and dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. There are a variety of prizes and your support will benefit the Princeton Buddy Bags program, a not-for-profit ecumenical organization working to address childhood hunger.
