Tom Clark : Z98 Mornings 6 to 10, General Manager

Tom Clark

Z98 Mornings 6 to 10, General Manager

Born into radio Tom did his first commercial at the age of 4, when his father who was a radio announcer, needed him to deliver the line, "Mommy Mommy ! Can we go to the fair ?", which he did enthusiastically. It was in his DNA,  and outside of a four year stint in U.S. Air Force he's been in or around radio his entire adult life. Working as both an on air personality and sales person, Tom has seen the power and effectiveness of radio survive the 4/8 track tape, the cassette tape, the compact disc, the mp3 player, satellite, and most recently Pandora/Spotify all of which were supposed to make radio obsolete. He says radio continues to thrive because ; it's free, it's live, it's local and it's likeable. People enjoy listening to music that is played for them and contrary to popular belief they even enjoy hearing commercials for local businesses where they shop.

Z-98 Afternoon Drive 2 to 6

Is this thing on?   Thank you (maybe?), and WZOE for reviving (resuscitating?) this guys radio career.

JC, originally from Rock Falls/Sterling in Whiteside county, a fact he only points out at party's when discussing the merits of 1990 splatter film, Luther the Geek, for which the Sterling Kroger was prominently featured.  Yes.  Princeton, you may have 1/2 of Kathy and Judy and great travel articles gracing the Chicago Tribune... JC's hometown put out a 3rd rate horror movie in 1990.  (Here's the IMDB, if you don't believe him.)

JC landed in the area in 2001, spending mornings and afternoons on stations in Mendota, LaSalle and Oglesby.  He left radio in 2011... until Tom Clark accidentally called him looking for someone else to fill the afternoon show and he begged him to let him do it in exchange for a single Culvers Butterburger and a lifetime supply of Monster Energy drinks in the studio.

When he's not doing radio... JC moonlights as an exotic dancer for the visually impaired.   Plus, he has a wife and three awesome kids in Spring Valley.

Follow JC on Twitter and Facebook.
