John E. Gibson, 65, of Princeton, Il passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2018, at his home.
John was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Harry and Judy (Graves) Gibson on February 11, 1953. He was a graduate of Springfield SE High School and shortly thereafter joined the Navy. John served his country in the Vietnam War from 1972 to 1976. He married the late Susie Gibson in 1978. John moved to Princeton in 2012 enjoying his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, listening to music especially 60’s and 70’s rock and roll as well as Jazz music. He was a huge Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed seeing the Cubs finally win the World Series.
John is survived by two sister Vicky (Dan) Hebel – Princeton, IL, Judy Cassiday – Kansas City, MO, one brother, Daniel (Jody) Gibson – Tucson, AZ and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by; his parents, Harry and Judy Gibson, his wife, Susie Gibson.
The family is doing a private service at a later date and time.
