Robert F. Walter, 81, of Princeton, formerly of Ohio, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, surrounded by loved ones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 1st , in the St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton, with Fr. Robert Spilman Officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ohio, with military honors by the Princeton Veterans Memorial Group. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass Wednesday in the church. Robert was born on June 5, 1937 in Ohio to Robert F. Sr. and Dorothy (Kessel) Walter. He had worked at Commonwealth Edison as a customer service representative. He had served in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton.

He is survived by: his Aunts and Uncles, Marjorie Sibigtroth, Robert Kessel, and Ronald Kessel; and cousins; his “boys” Tim (Aggie) Smith, and Tom (Carol) Smith; “Grandkids” Emily and Luke Smith; and his faithful canine companion Gracie.

He was preceded in death by: his parents and several aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton, or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ohio.
