At least six people are injured following a carriage accident at Fox River Resort in Norway. The Urbana City Council is set to vote on a new three-year contract with police officers.

(White County, IL) — All three inmates who escaped from the White County Jail three-weeks ago are back behind bars. Officials say the remaining escapee was taken into custody late Saturday night. The men used a pipe to break through a wall of the jail on June 16th. Their escape went unnoticed for more than two-hours.

(Rock Island, IL) — Nearly a week after two people were killed by one of its limbs, a tree at the Rock Island County Courthouse is being removed. Sheriff Gerry Bustos confirmed with KWQC-TV that the tree had been deemed unsafe after several assessments. Crews started removing it on Saturday. Two people were killed and several others were injured July 3rd while sitting under the tree to watch Fourth of July fireworks.

(Norway, IL) — At least six people are injured following a carriage accident at Fox River Resort in Norway. Investigators say the horses were spooked, causing the horse-drawn wagon to flip. The accident happened on Saturday. Officials say the injured ranged in age from one-year-old to 30 and older.

(Peoria, IL) — A new report ranks Peoria as 18th in the nation for population decline. The study was conducted by “24/7 Wall Street” and used information from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Population Estimates Program. It showed the metro area has lost more than 14-thousand people since 2010. That’s a one-point-eight-percent decline.

>>Urbana City County To Vote On New Police Contract

(Urbana, IL) — The Urbana City Council is set to vote on a new three-year contract with police officers. The new agreement is retroactive to July 2017 and includes a two-percent pay increase in each year, with sergeants getting an additional one-thousand-dollars per year. The “News Gazette” reports, it also broadens the rules related to time off for the death of a loved one.
