Lawyers for the man charged with stabbing a 16-year-old Spring Valley girl to death wants his trial to start next month. Richard Henderson’s lawyers yesterday told a judge in Hennepin that to comply with Illinois’ 120-day speedy trial law, Henderson needs to go before a jury no later than June 5th. Putnam County prosecutors say both sides have agreed to recent delays, so the clock should be frozen. The judge did not make a final ruling. Deputies found Diamond Bradley dead in a ditch at the end of January. Investigators say they think she met Henderson online, and that he later killed her.
