Joseph “Joe” Alan Nissen of Spring Valley, IL passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Sheridan Shores Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.

Joe was born on November 28, 1976 in Spring Valley, IL to Herman Edwin Nissen and Mary Ellen Burden Nissen. He was a graduate of Tiskilwa High School and an employee at LCN in Princeton, Il.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing or anything related to being outdoors with his son, Zach and his closet friends Jimbo Erwin, Matt “Snag” Wagner and Archie Burden. He also enjoyed playing/watching football and eating the wild game and mushrooms he hunted with his friends and son.

Joe is preceded in death by his father, mother, two sisters; Sharon Ann and Susie Childer, one brother, Eddie Nissen.

He is survived by his son Zachary (Nick Vale) Nissen of Chicago, Il, two sisters; Mary (Curt) Albrecht of Tiskilwa, IL and Donna Yeager of Amboy, IL, one brother, Bill (Linda) Nissen of Chicago, IL and one sister-in-law Debbie Nissen of Princeton, IL as well as ten nieces, five nephews, thirteen great nieces and nine great nephews with one more on the way.

A celebration of life was held for family and friends.
