Bernice H. Schneider, 95, of Cherry, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Thursday, January 4, 2018.

A private service is planned at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Cherry. Arrangements are through the Fiocchi Funeral Home, Cherry. Private online condolences may be left for the family at

Bernice was born on April 10, 1922 in Maytown, to Richard and Anna (Sharkey) Gillan. She married Marvin Schneider on May 1, 1948. Bernice was a homemaker, loved to cook, enjoyed decorating her home and loved to play cards. She loved helping her children and grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren were her life.

Survivors include: her care giver of the past 5 years Jennifer Virlee; her daughters, Sharon Schneider of Princeton, Daine (James) Stangel of Cherry, Rhonda Fultz of Mendota, Janet (Chris) Drewel of Oglesby, and Marlene (Bill) LA’Sorella of Ladd; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Klein.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Marvin; her parents; 2 daughters, Carolyn Brandner, and Connie Lauer; 4 sisters; and 6 brothers.
