Roberta I. Piper, 88, of Malden, passed away on January 1, 2018 at Heartland Health Care Center in Henry, IL.

Roberta was born near Green Oak, IL. on December 31, 1929 to Edward and Florence P. (Wilcox) Sabin. She graduated from Malden High School in 1948. Roberta married Wilmur S. Piper on January 23, 1949 in Princeton. She was employed by Malden School District for 20 years as a Teachers Aid. She was a member of Malden Methodist Church. Roberta enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Thomas D. (Cheryl) Piper of Rock Island; Mary (Randy) Tkach of Hopewell; W. Stan Piper of Malden; Keith W. (Tami) Piper of McNabb; one brother, Leo (Gayle) Sabin of Mesa, Az.; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband; one infant daughter, Dixie Lee Piper; one grandson, Jeremy Tkach; six sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 6PM at Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton with Pastor Brian Moore officiating.
