Robert “Benny” Trowbridge, 76, of Princeton, died on Thursday, September 28th in his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton.
His family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:45 p.m. in the Chapel of The Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton, and again from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.Private online condolences may be left for the family at

Robert was born on May 19, 1941in Wilmette, Illinois, to Maurice and Frances (Bauer) Trowbridge. He married Catherine Moloney on August 26, 1989 in Westmont, Illinois. He was an arborist for the Village of Broadview for 30 years. He was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton.

He is survived by: his wife, Catherine Trowbridge of Princeton; his daughter, Tina Trowbridge of Palm Harbor, Florida; his son, Ronald (Alma) Trowbridge of Nashville, Tennessee; his step-son, Dustin Vertheen of Aurora; 3 grandchildren, Ciara (Evaristo) Ramirez, Desiree Vertheen and Hunter Trowbridge; 2 great grandchildren, Anaisabela and Evaristo IV; and his siblings, Patrice Lamphere of Sun City, Arizona, John (Dianne) Trowbridge of Tucson, Arizona, Edward (Susann) of Wheaton, and Mary (John) Greene of Princeton.

He was preceded in death by: his parents.
