Some businesses in Princeton apparently are the targets of a telephone scam. The caller identifies himself as the City of Princeton. He tells the business they have until 2 p.m. to pay their utility bill, or the city will shut them off immediately. City officials say this is a scam. If you receive such a call, let the city know by calling 815-875-2631, as well as the Princeton Police Department at 815-872-2351.
