OBITUARY – Lois Darling

Lois Darling, 88, died on August 23rd. She was a longtime resident of Princeton and had spent the last two years living at the Marian Village Assisted Living Community in Homer Glen, IL near family. She married William Darling in 1949 in Decatur. He preceded her. She is survived by adult children: Sue Keck of WI; Derek of WI; David of Tinley Park, Daniel of Chicago, and Dwight of Wheaton. One son, William, preceded her in 1966. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, a cousin and a sister-in-law.
She is also survived by special caregiver and family friend, Lorna Ribas.
She was employed by First State Bank of Princeton, which later was known as Amcore Bank, retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton.
Visitation is Thursday at Norberg Memorial Home from 4-7 pm with a rosary starting at 6:30. Funeral mass is on Friday at 11 am at St Louis Catholic Church, burial to follow at Elm Lawn Memorial Park. A luncheon will be served at Harkrader Hall in St. Louis Catholic Church following burial. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, ALS Association, Tri-County Humane Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
