Doris M. Rote, 92, of Princeton, passed away on July 19, 2017 at Colonial Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Doris was born on June 14, 1925 in Princeton, IL. to Olaf and Marie (Anderson) Olson. She was a graduate of Princeton High School and Brown Business School in Peoria. Doris married Loren I. Rote on December 30, 1950 in Princeton. She worked at Pioneer Hybrid Seed Corn Company until she retired. She was a lifetime member of the First Lutheran Church in Princeton.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Bob) Nelson of Deer Creek, IL; Diane (Jeff) Schieber of Carlock, IL; four grandsons, Michael (Tina) Bell of Ocean Springs MS; Chad Bell of Hutchins, TX; Eric (Leslie) Nelson of Germantown Hills, IL; Todd (Shayla) Nelson of Claremont, NC; seven great grandchildren, Sarah, Kayla, and Carleigh Bell; Arden and Abilene Nelson; and Kaylee and Kolson Nelson.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband in 1984, and one sister, Dorothy Coville.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church in Princeton.
Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 am at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. William Shields officiating. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Lutheran Church in Princeton or donor’s choice.
