*Weekend Events at Starved Rock
The Starved Rock Lodge and Conference center have a weekend of events planned. Tonight (4/21/17) there will be live music at the back door lounge by Timmy and the Nightcaps from 8 until 11. Tomorrow (4/22/17) the waterfall and canyon tour will take place 9 and 11 and the take a hike and lunch is also at 11. On Sunday (4/23/17) brunch is from 10:30 am until 3, the take a hike and lunch will be held at 11:00 and the historic trolley tours run at noon, 1:30 and 3:00.


*In reports from the Bureau County State’s Attorney’s office, 25 year old Alyssa Stroud of Princeton pleaded guilty to DUI. She was ordered to pay $2000 in fees and court costs and was placed on conditional discharge for 2 years. She will also serve 180 days in the Bureau County jail.

33 year old Heith Delacruzham of Princeton pleaded guilty to retail theft. He will pay $552 in fees and court costs and received court supervision for 1 year.

38 year old Ryan Robson of Kewanee pleaded guilty to criminal trespassing. He was ordered to pay $507 in fees and court costs and was placed on conditional discharge for 1 year.


*Monthly Hike the Canal outing announced

The friends of the Hennepin Canal will be holding their monthly Hike the Canal outing tomorrow (4/23/17). This month’s hike is 5.4 miles long and has been named the “Raccoon”.

The monthly hikes were developed as an opportunity for people to get to know the Canal better by hiking it from the Illinois River to the Mississippi in small sections. There is no fee for the hike and membership is not a requirement.

The group will meet at bridge 15 tomorrow at 1:30.

*Princeton Public Library Schedule 
The Princeton Public Library has released its schedule of events for the week. There will be an I-Cash program today at 1:00. Monday kicks off smart money week at the library and there will be a smart money program on investing at 3:00 and movie night is at 6:30. On Tuesday the youth services story time and craft will begin at 10:30, the smart money program will begin at 3:00 and there will be a music jam at 6:30. On Wednesday the smart money programs will begin at 2 and 4:30. On Thursday the smart money program is at 6:30.


*Perry Memorial Schedule of Events for the Week

Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton has a week of events scheduled. There will be a free varicose vein screening on Tuesday in suite 205 of the Perry Memorial General Surgery Clinic and registration is required. To make an appointment call 815-872-9491. On Thursday Perry Memorial will host a free senior wellness program at the Bureau County Senior Center in Princeton. The program is open to the public and registration is not required.
