*Board Meeting Cancellation
The Princeton Park District Board Meeting for Monday March 20th has been cancelled. The next meeting will be on April 3rd at 4:15 for a public hearing followed by the regularly scheduled meeting at 4:30 at the Bureau County Metro Center in Princeton.

 

*Perry Memorial Hospital Schedule of Events

Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton has released their schedule of events for the week. The community blood drive will take place on Tuesday from 1:30 until 6:30 on the 4th floor of the hospital. Call 1-800-747-5401 to make an appointment to donate. The grief and loss support group will meet on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 in the hospital chapel. For more information call 1-815-876-2070.

 

*Monthly Hike the Canal outing announced

The friends of the Hennepin Canal will be holding their monthly Hike the Canal outing tomorrow (3/19/17). This month’s hike is 4.2 miles long and has been named the “Barred Owl”.

The monthly hikes were developed as an opportunity for people to get to know the Canal better by hiking it from the Illinois River to the Mississippi in small sections. There is no fee for the hike and membership is not a requirement.

The group will meet at bridge 56 tomorrow at 1:30.

*Compassionate Friends Meeting Announced

The Compassionate Friends support organization will meet this Thursday evening. The group specializes in assisting families reach a positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age. They offer friendship, understanding and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. The meeting will be at the Illinois Valley Community Hospital’s 6th Street office building in Peru at 7:00 Thursday evening.

 

*In reports from the Bureau County State’s Attorney’s Office, 50 year old Linda Brokaw of Princeton pleaded guilty to domestic battery. She was ordered to pay $582 in fees and court costs and was placed on court supervision for 1 year.

-36 year old Darci Ventra of Spring Valley pleaded guilty to DUI. She will pay $2500 in fees and court costs and received conditional discharge for 1 year.

-45 year old Richard Drummond of Wyanet pleaded guilty to domestic battery. He was ordered to pay $887 in fees and court costs and was placed on probation for 2 years. He will also serve 2 days in the Bureau County jail.

-30 year old Hector Santiago of Spring Valley pleaded guilty to criminal trespassing. He will pay $1112 in fees and court costs and received conditional discharge for 1 year.

-44 year old Kimberly Guynn of Spring Valley pleaded guilty to obstructing a peace officer. She was ordered to pay $492 in fees and court costs and was placed on conditional discharge for 2 years.

-47 year old Todd Smith of Van Orin pleaded guilty to domestic battery. He will pay $887 in fees and court costs and received probation for 2 years. He also served 2 days in the Bureau County jail.

-52 year old Donald Bird of Princeton pleaded guilty to violation of an order of protection. He was ordered to pay $857 in fees and court costs and was placed on conditional discharge for 2 years. He also served 4 days in the Bureau County jail.

-58 year old Thomas Lueken of Malden pleaded guilty to domestic battery. He will pay $837 in fees and court costs and received conditional discharge for 1 year. He also served 4 days in the Bureau County jail.
