Dr. CLEM MATTSON Dr. Clem Jacob Mattson, 77, of Cherry, formerly of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. A memorial service will be held 12 p.m. Wednesday in the Fiocchi Funeral Home, Cherry. Interment will be held at the Ladd Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Clem was born on May 11, 1937 in La Moure, North Dakota to Jul and Dorothy (McGregor) Mattson. He married Rose Marie Marconi on September 18, 1970 in Grafton, North Dakota. He received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1963 and was Board Certified in family practice. He practiced medicine in Grafton, North Dakota, Sandwich, Illinois, Iowa State University, Ames and retired from the Tomah V.A. Medical Center, Tomah, Wisconsin. Clem had an inquisitive mind, loved to read, loved to discuss politics and philosophy. He had a kind heart and a genuine concern for social causes. He is survived by: his wife, Rose Marie Mattson of Cherry; 2 sons, Corey (Rachel Shively) Mattson of Bloomington, and David Mattson of DeKalb; 1 daughter, Kristi (Samuel) Pine of Dana Point, California; 2 grandchildren, Estelle and Solomon Pine; 4 brothers, Dr. Joseph (Pat) Mattson of Hettinger, North Dakota, Dr. Larry (Sue) Mattson of Austin, Texas, Don James (Marge) Mattson of Portland, Oregon, Michael (Colleen) Mattson of Fargo, North Dakota; and 1 sister, Mary Ellen Kleuver of Salt Lake City, Utah.
